This is where you will learn a few things about our Coven.
Formed by Rick Johnson in February of 1982, DHC started out without a real name. We thought of “The Wicca Biz, Ink” with our logo as a quill & ink bottle but that didn’t work and settled on Desert Henge as a way to tie the Desert in which we live with our ancestry.
As I was only a Second Degree Gardnerian of the Long Island line, I was unable to legally form a Gardnerian Coven so we formed as a British Traditional coven until 1984 when both I and Marti, the acting High Priestess, received our Third Degrees from Adelaide, an Alexandrian HPS trained by Maxine Sanders.
It was in 1997 that I received my Gardnerian Third Degree from a Canadian HPS descended from Rae Bone and so Desert Henge Coven became a Gardnerian Coven.
Thus all DHC Initiations performed prior to 1997 are British Traditional but NOT Gardnerians. Those performed after 1997 are Gardnerian.
